How NotShot's AI judge and auto-refund actually works

The single biggest risk with AI-generated product photography isn't that it looks bad, it's that it looks almost right and ships anyway. NotShot's answer to that is mechanical, not a promise: every render is checked before it reaches you.

What gets checked

After a render is generated, it goes through an automated quality pass before it's ever handed back as a finished result. The check is looking for the failure modes that actually hurt a catalog: a garment that doesn't sit right, an identity that's drifted from the source model, an artifact that would be obvious at full zoom. This runs on every render, not a spot-check sample.

What happens when a render fails the check

If a render falls under the quality bar, the credit is automatically refunded. You're not charged for a result that didn't work, and you don't have to file a support ticket to get your credit back. That's the honest trade we'd want as a customer ourselves: pay for a result, not for an attempt.

Why this matters more than it sounds

Most AI image tools charge per generation regardless of output quality, so the incentive runs the wrong way, more generations is more revenue whether or not any of them are usable. Tying the charge to a quality pass instead keeps the incentive pointed at the actual outcome you're paying for: a render you'd put in your catalog.

Do I need to manually request a refund if a render is bad?
No, the check runs automatically and the credit refunds on its own if the render doesn't clear the bar.
Does every render get checked, or just some?
Every render goes through the same check before delivery, it's not a sampled spot-check.
